[TBC Bank] Operations With Checks

The Traveller’s Checks are reliable means of payment in thousands of merchants, as well as a way to avoid carrying large amounts of cash. They are an internationally redeemable draft purchased in various denominations from the bank and payable only upon the purchaser's endorsement against the original signature on the draft. They function as cash but are protected against loss or theft.
When purchasing the Traveller’s Checks, client is not required to open a bank account.
TBC Bank cashes traveller’s checks of the main emitters but sells only American Express Traveller’s Checks.

How to use Traveller's Checks at Merchants?

1. Make sure you find out from a store whether it accepts traveller's checks before you start filling one out.
2. Wait for the clerk to total your purchase, and then hand over the appropriate amount in checks.
3. Ask the clerk if you can sign the checks*. When you get the go-ahead, countersign the bottom of the checks while the clerk is watching.
4. Present your ID with the checks, if requested.
5. Take your change in local currency.

Bank Checks

TBC Bank also sells bank checks of Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust Company and accepts checks of other banks.

Bank check is a written order to pay a certain amount to check holder (Private or corporate party noted in the check).
Check clearing period is approximately 1 month.
The bank checks are usually valid for 6 months; otherwise, is noted on the check.
